Where to advertise your goods if you are a wholesale business or a shop

Where to advertise your goods if you are a wholesale business or a shop

Start with the basics

To gain more traction, you need more exposure. And to have more exposure and get more contacts, you need to find the resources, tools and means appropriate for that specific purpose.

For a beginning, it is ok to start with online search:
  • find databases,
  • e-mails and
  • phone numbers.

Nowadays, databases that you can find online are pretty good and have a decent amount of information that can be really good. Especially if you are at the start of your search.

After you find a significant amount of contacts to your own list, you are ready to fire it up:

  • call people
  • arrange meetings,
  • send emails, and
  • send catalogues.

Consider paid promotions

Social media and search networks are always a good thing to consider when you want more exposure.

But, before you give away your money for a promotion that might not be so fruitful, try some extra tricks first.

Try to find FB groups and also Linkedin groups. Join them and keep up with the latest trends. Publish your own posts and engage. See what is going on and see if you can take advantage of the current situation. Create new relationships and find new connections.

And of course paid promotions are available everywhere:
  • Facebook
  • Twitter,
  • Instagram,
  • Linkedin, and so on.

However, wholesale business is something different. And we would recommend using only search engines and paid advertising on those platforms. Especially in the beginning, and especially  google ads.

Facebook and Instagram could be good for branding, reach and overall awareness. Especially if you live in a small environment.

Something new and not so present in all parts of the world is Linkedin. That specific social network has grown significantly in the previous year or two, and in some areas of business, it is simply impossible to avoid. Everyone is there. But sometimes, it is simply useless. So, you will have to see what your marketplace is using and try to adapt to your own situation

Old school tricks

Organize, conduct and take part in events in your market area. Meet others, find partners. Present your work in events and make invitations. If you gather around a significant amount of businessmen and company representatives, you will be able to get more exposure.

Print your promotional materials, visit cards, and distribute them every time you have a chance.

Also, make those promo materials and catalogues available online.

Make a website

This is also pretty much old school, but there is something that you need to know. Nowadays, so many companies make websites but they are very, very poorly made:
  • design is bad
  • the fonts are hard to read,
  • the entire user experience is amazingly bad.
So, if you hire the right man for the job, you can be the special one
  • good website is google friendly,
  • easy to find,
  • and it will attract people online.

Of course, all necessary data must be uploaded on site, with e-mail addresses, location, social media links, phone numbers, and everything must be designed so that visitors can find it easily in a couple of seconds.

And descriptions are something to think about. Describe with an easy to understand language who you are and what you do. Don’t use difficult language, difficult phrases and keep it short. People and visitors will appreciate it.
